Free cloud AI credits

The big cloud platforms hand new accounts sizeable credits — $200 to $300 — that work on their hosted model services. They are the most generous one-off offers, but each runs on a short clock and most require a payment method.

The short answer

Google Cloud’s $300 / 90-day credit is the largest and covers Google’s own Gemini models in Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (formerly Vertex AI); the standalone Gemini API and partner models are excluded. Azure’s $200 / 30-day credit is general-purpose, and the account is disabled at the end unless you move to pay-as-you-go. Frequently asked questions

How much free cloud AI credit can I get?
Google Cloud gives new accounts a $300 credit for 90 days, Microsoft Azure gives $200 for 30 days plus 12 months of free services, and AWS gives up to $200 ($100 on signup plus up to $100 more through activities) on a six-month free plan. Google Cloud’s credit carries two generative-AI exclusions: the standalone Gemini API, and partner models such as Claude.
Do cloud credits require a credit card?
Google Cloud and Azure do. AWS now says a payment method “isn’t required to sign up for most new customers”, though it may ask for one to verify your identity and other AWS pages still require one — so plan on needing it. None of the three charges you automatically when the trial ends.
Can I use cloud credits for LLMs — including Claude?
For each cloud’s own models, yes. Google’s credit covers its Gemini models; AWS’s credits are usable on Amazon Bedrock; Azure’s credit is general-purpose, so confirm Azure OpenAI availability on your subscription. For Claude, no cloud trial is a documented route: Google excludes partner models, and AWS does not say its new-account credits cover Claude, which Bedrock bills through AWS Marketplace.
